When you visit, access or use the Hiscension website or its social media subsidiaries, as appropriate we may collect personally identifiable information and non-personally identifiable information about you and your visits to this site.
Personally Identifiable Information that is collected, is subject only to what you voluntarily provide to us, for subscription, notification or commenting services on Hiscension.com (via Disqus, Wordpress native comments); Social media platforms which will also be known as social media referrers for the context of this policy (Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, Discord, Scribblehub, etc.). This may be in the form of a name, username, profile, handle, nickname & email address.
How do we use your information
Primarily the information provided is for community engagement, via the comments and subsidiary social media referrers. For the purpose of peer review, critique, commentary; ranging from various perspectives, ideologies & cultures.
Information is also used for subscription and notification purposes. We do not sell your information to third parties. At any time you are free to unsubscribe or notify us of cancellation of subscription/ newsletter notification messages. Currently, this sites subscription & newsletter notification for content utilizes WordPress followers system, email subscription notifications, Facebook feed posts, Twitter feed posts, Tumblr feed posts & Discord feed posts.
How we protect your data
We make reasonable efforts to ensure any personally identifiable data provided is secure and protected, but due to the nature of the world wide web (Internet) as an open global communications vehicle, there is no 100% guarantee that the information, during its transmission through the world wide web or while stored on system servers or within our care, will be absolutely safe from intrusion by others, such as hackers.
Data provided such as an email address, WordPress account, social media handle for the purpose of subscription will be stored for as long as necessary to fulfill delivery of content notification. If you are subscribed with any aforementioned delivery methods, delivery information will be stored until you choose to unsubscribe from said delivery method.
If we believe any user/subscriber personal information in our possession or control may have been compromised, we will make a public announcement of such an event. This entails a users/visitors rights from the European Union protecting their personal data, the right to request for their access data which has been collected about them, and the right to have it rectified.
California Consumer Privacy Act of 2018
This entails the legal and enforceable right of privacy for every Californian. Fundamental to their rights to privacy, is the ability of the individuals to control the use, including the sale, of their personal information.
Those said rights are as follows:

- The right of Californians to know whether their personal information is sold or disclosed and to whom.

Controlling the Assault of Non-Solicited Pornography and Marketing Act of 2003
The CAN-SPAM Rule applies to commercial electronic messages & sets the requirements for these messages. This also spells out the rights of the recipient for emails sent to them as well as severe penalties for violations.

Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act of 1998
The Children’s Online Privacy Protection Rule (COPPA) imposes certain requirements on operators of websites or online services directed to children who are under 13 years of age.
We DO NOT knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under the age of 13. If we become aware that we inadvertently received personally identifiable information from a user under 13 years of age, we will delete such information from our records.
As such, we DO NOT knowingly allow children under 13 years of age to publicly post or otherwise distribute personally identifiable contact information. We DO NOT condone the participation of the child under the age of 13 in online activities in providing personally identifiable information, likewise we do not collect any personally identifiable information from children under the age of 13.
